Image result for bci checkPrior to volunteering in the schools or chaperoning a school event, you must have a cleared BCI on file. You will need to obtain a State-wide background check.

If residency in Rhode Island has been less than two years, you will also need to obtain a BCI from the state of your previous resident address.

A new BCI check must be completed each school year.

To obtain your RI State BCI check:
 • Complete this form. Incomplete or illegible forms will not be accepted.

• Have the form notarized. Forms that are not notarized will not be accepted.

 • Staple a clear copy of your driver's license to the form.

 • Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to receive your confirmation of the completed BCI check.

• Return completed form and copy of your license to the main office of your child’s school for processing.

If you have resided in Rhode Island less than 2 years, you must also obtain a BCI from the state you lived in previously.

Results will be sent to the Glocester School Department and the Foster/Glocester Regional School Department. Separate forms are not required for volunteering in both districts.

Please allow 2 weeks for background check to be completed and schools to be notified.
