RI Honor Society

Ponaganset High School seniors are eligible for induction into the Rhode Island Honor Society based upon scholarship and character. A student must have a minimum four-year cumulative weighted GPA of 3.67 (for members of the class of 2026 and before) or 3.77 (for the class of 2027 and after) through the end of the first semester of their senior year. Eligible students must also demonstrate the highest standards of character, which are evaluated by the Faculty Council. Serious disciplinary infractions or excessive unexcused absences and tardies may exclude a candidate from membership based on the decision of the council. Once a membership decision is made, a letter will be sent to the candidate. The candidate must then contact the faculty advisor to accept the offer of membership by the date and time indicated on the letter.
