The Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) is an international honor society for student musicians, sponsored by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). It recognizes students for their musical achievements, academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to service. Members use music to enrich their school and community through performance, mentorship, and advocacy.
Chapter 7716 at Ponaganset High School upholds these values by requiring students to be enrolled in a school-sponsored music ensemble or class, maintain a B+ average in music courses, and be in their junior or senior year. Members demonstrate leadership through school or community involvement, complete at least 10 hours of service, and remain in good standing with the music department. They also provide two academic teacher recommendations. Through performances, fundraisers, and outreach programs, Tri-M members make a meaningful impact while developing valuable skills for their future.
