Dear PHS Students and Families,
PHS is offering the opportunity for our grade 10 and grade 11 students to take the PSAT (NMSQT) this fall.
The PSAT (NMSQT) is a great primer for the SAT, and the ACT, but it's more than just a trial run. For current grade 11 students, PSAT (NMSQT) scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars. More than 3.4 million high school students (mostly juniors and sophomores) take this multiple-choice test every year, nationwide.
When: Wednesday, October 14, 2020 - 8:00am - 12:30pm
Where: Ponaganset High School
Who: Mostly 10th and 11th graders
Cost: $20 per test (payment is due at registration)
The PSAT/NMSQT is highly relevant to your future success because it focuses on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It will measure:
The October PSAT/NMSQT and SAT cannot be administered from home. It is strictly an on-site assessment, even for those that have opted for distance learning.
The October PSAT/NMSQT and SAT cannot be administered to students on a one-to-one basis. We cannot accommodate that at a whole school level.
Cell phones are not permitted in the testing rooms. Any devices, including smartwatches, that can be used to record, transmit, receive or play back audio, photographic, text, or video content are not allowed in the testing rooms.
Go to www.Collegboard.org for more information about the PSAT (NMSQ) or ask your school counselor.
The DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS OCTOBER 2, 2020 and payment is due at registration.
